Upper Deck has officially pulled back the curtain on Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game Second Edition, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest refreshes the series has seen in over a decade. Rather than a simple reprint, the company is positioning this 2026 release as a full evolution of the original core set, with redesigned cards, updated mechanics, and a more modern presentation.
According to Upper Deck Entertainment, nearly every card has been reworked, expanding the set to 550 cards and introducing new content like playable Doctor Octopus as a Mastermind and Miles Morales as a core hero. The update also adds new mechanics, tougher double-sided Masterminds, and a rebalanced experience aimed at both longtime players and newcomers.

In short, Upper Deck isn’t just revisiting Legendary, it’s rebuilding it for a new generation, and the buzz across BGG suggests fans are paying close attention.
